"forget regret, or life is yours to miss"

reflecting back on things i have done in my life that were initially scary or out of my comfort zone i can honestly say not one time has there been actual regret - even if certain things were a complete and utter disaster or didn't go as planned, there was always some sort of inevitable growth that soon followed. whether it was performing a well-rehearsed number on stage in front of hundreds of people, singing "lean on me" in a room full of other nervous kiddos during a commercial audition (happy to report most joined in), going to therapy, taking that psychology class I was sure I would fail but shockingly did not, becoming an outside sales rep after being behind a desk for five years, being rebaptized at eighteen years old, going out on that first date with the man who would become my husband, taking an online program during covid, becoming a mother, starting this blog, picking up a new hobby like gardening or making sourdough bread, or most recently, enrolling back into college to earn my associates degree in interior design.

it's very true that we are the ones who hold ourselves back, we are the ones who lean more into caring about what others will think versus trusting our gut and that voice inside our heard screaming "JUST DO IT!" or the ongoing cycle of "I don't have time for that, but maybe one day". i strongly believe in the end we will only regret the things that we didn't do or didn't try rather than the things that we did. so many success stories whether in business or in someone's personal life started with an untraditional path, fear of failure, fear of rejection or just plain fear so there must be something to it.

one thing that makes life beautiful is that it is 100% ours for the taking and we only get one chance to really fill it with the things we love, leave our mark whether big or small, make a difference whether simple or grand. it's easy to let life pass by and keep doing what we know, doing what feels familiar day in and day out but the truth is, life is full of endless possibilities and opportunities to really finetune ourselves into who we were always meant to be.

consider this my sappy "you got this girl!" motivational blog to anyone mama or woman reading it. i dare you to dive deep into the thing you constantly keep going back to in your head, the thing that keeps you up at night, the thing you see others doing and you can think to yourself, "man i want to do that". mama/girl/babe - just freaking do it. you'll be so glad that you did.

with love,

Sarah
